The arrival of the HMT Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks in 1948 marked a pivotal moment in British history, bringing 802 passengers from the Caribbean to rebuild post-war Britain. In Basingstoke, we recognize and celebrate the significant contributions of this pioneering generation.

The Annual Windrush Flag Raising Ceremony: A powerful symbol of recognition and respect, the flag is raised each year to mark the start of Black History Month.
